You have a goal you keep meaning to start. Every week you carve out the time, and every week something else fills it. It's Sunday again and your friends have invited you out at the time you'd set aside. Before you cancel on yourself or turn down your friends, take five minutes to actually decide.

How much does this goal matter to you right now and is delaying it going to make you feel worse? OR are you already running so empty that an afternoon with people who fill you up is genuinely what you need most?

If it's the goal, do it. Your friends will still be there next week. If it's your friends, go socialise and be fully present because you made a conscious choice based on your priorities.

The guilt comes from action that is not aligned with your priorities.
