A quiet reflection of the year

I like to close the year by reflecting on what’s happened in my life.

The highs and the lows. What went well, what didn’t quite go to plan, and what I’m proud of when I slow down enough to notice it. Not to judge the year, but to acknowledge it honestly.

This year, much of that reflection centres on the intensive training I’ve done to qualify as a coach. Learning a new craft stretched me in ways I didn’t expect. There were moments of excitement, moments of doubt, and the quiet, testing whispers of imposter syndrome.

What’s mattered most has been learning how to make coaching my own. Taking what I’ve been taught and shaping it into a style that feels natural and true to me, rather than trying to copy the style of coaching books I’ve read.

Alongside that, I’ve been learning how to build something that will last. Thinking ahead, developing new skills, and creating a business with care and intention. It hasn’t all been straightforward, but it has led to work I feel really proud of.

This way of reflecting sits at the heart of my coaching. Creating space to look back honestly, make sense of what’s been learned, and move forward with a little more clarity and confidence.
