Readiness Matters More Than Motivation

Motivation is unreliable. Readiness is what creates change.

Many people say they want change, but far fewer are actually ready to take responsibility for it. This is why insight often turns into frustration instead of progress.

Readiness looks like honesty.
It looks like recognising that what you are doing is no longer working.
It looks like being willing to invest time, energy, and resources into yourself.

Without readiness, coaching becomes a conversation rather than a catalyst.

When someone is truly ready, they stop asking whether change is possible and start asking what it will take. They make decisions rather than staying in analysis. They accept that growth involves discomfort, structure, and commitment.

This is why timing matters. Coaching works best when a person is done negotiating with the part of themselves that wants to stay the same.

If you are in a place of curiosity or information gathering, that is not wrong. It is simply not the same as being ready. And confusing the two often leads to stalled progress.

Lasting change begins when you decide to participate fully in your own transformation.
