I’m a Transformative Coach, based by the sea in Sussex, in the UK.
I’ve taught psychology, politics and critical thinking and provided pastoral guidance for many years in a sixth form college. Over the years, I’ve worked closely with many students to help them find a sense of direction and purpose in their studies and to build their confidence and self-esteem.
Turning to coaching adults has been the natural next step in my life's journey. I bring a non-judgemental, empathetic approach to helping people work through life transitions - whether that’s finding a university or a career path that fits, stepping into the workplace for the first time or after a career break, navigating perimenopause, supporting elderly parents, or anything in between. If you’re neurodivergent, I can help you to recognise, celebrate and utilise your strengths, and to work out and apply approaches that suit how you think, work and live.
My qualifications:
MA (Hons) Psychology; University of Edinburgh.
PGCE Secondary; Canterbury Christ Church University College.
MRes Politics; Birkbeck College, University of London.
Foundation Certificate in Transactional Analysis Theory; Connexus Institute.
In Progress: Accredited Diploma in Transformative Coaching; Animas Centre for Coaching.
My practice is guided by a commitment to social justice and anti-discriminatory values. It is also informed by Transactional Analysis (TA). This is a simple yet powerful framework for helping us to examine our habitual patterns and our interactions with others. Being more aware of these can help us to make changes, both personally and professionally.
I believe that everyone has the right—and the ability—to make their own decisions. You are the expert on your own life. I am not here to tell you what to do. Instead, coaching with me is a practical process where we look together at where you are and where you want to be. From here, through targeted questioning, I will help you:
• Spot the habits, communication patterns or beliefs that might be holding you back.
• Get clear on what matters.
• Broaden your perspective.
• Put together actionable plans.
• Keep yourself accountable.
Coaching works best when you feel ready for change and want a supportive space to help you make it happen.
IMPORTANT: Transformative coaching assumes that you are in reasonable mental health and have enough time and space in your life to make this commitment to yourself. If you are experiencing mental health difficulties or dealing with traumatic experiences, you would be better supported by a psychotherapist.
