About Me

About Me

I'm Jake, a coach based in England, UK, working online with people in the UK and internationally or locally by arrangement. I am also trained in clinical hypnotherapy and Neurohypnoanalysis.

I work with people for many different reasons. I speak to a lot of people who may be experiencing self-doubt or inner conflict, or repeating behaviors, thoughts and patterns and feeling unsure how to get beyond them. These can manifest in our inner and outer lives, relationships or families. I also work with people who are looking to develop their creativity or interested in personal development.

My approach is exploratory and natural. I can support you towards developing curiosity for what is happening for you, what may be underneath it, and how we can bring your own inner novelty in, to help you move you towards a more adaptive and healthy life.

Before moving into this work, I spent years in very different settings, including youth development work in the Sierra Nevada mountains in the USA, living and working in New Zealand, and front-line NHS roles across surgical, medical and emergency care. Those experiences continue to shape how I work: with groundedness, humanity and respect for others.

I hold a Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy (Neurohypnoanalysis) from the Institute for Psycho-Systems Analysis (IPSA), where I trained under Steve and Pauline Richards, co-founders of Psycho-Systems Analysis. My work draws on Psycho-Systems Analysis model— a depth-psychology and mind–body approach with roots in psycho-dynamics and hypnosis. I am also a member of their International Renaissance Psychotherapy Association (IRPA).

What sessions are like

Sessions are 90 minutes and held online via Zoom.

There is no fixed formula for a session. We work with what you bring and at a pace that suits you. Sometimes that means open, exploratory conversation. At other times we may work with the natural shifts in attention and awareness that people already experience, alongside imagery, creative techniques or other methods drawn from my training.

My role isn’t to tell you who you should become or how you should live. In that sense, this isn’t traditional coaching: rather than directing you towards a predetermined goal, the work is about helping you explore your own experience, develop a deeper relationship with the different parts of yourself and, ultimately, develop greater inner autonomy and adaptability in your life.

Disclaimer: This work is offered for personal development and is not medical diagnosis, medical treatment, psychiatric treatment or crisis intervention.

First session and fees

I offer your first 90-minute session free of charge, with no obligation to continue afterwards.

For any further sessions thereafter, I use an honesty-based sliding scale based on individual gross annual income. The intention is to make the work accessible across different financial circumstances. You simply choose the band that reflects your income; no proof or documentation is required.

Fee per 90-minute session:

Under £16,000 — optional donation (£0–£20)
£16,000–£20,000 — £30
£20,000–£25,000 — £40
£25,000–£35,000 — £50
£35,000–£45,000 — £60
