About Me

Hello!

I'm Sean and I specialize in career purpose, mental wellbeing, relationships, and creativity.

I'd love to hear about what your biggest ambitions are - in any of the areas I mention above - and what's currently getting in the way of you achieving this(?).

My experience

Years ago now, I struggled with severe social anxiety and depression, and it was coaching that helped me overcome this.

In 2014, whilst being coached, I began hosting support groups for people with anxiety, depression, and general confidence issues.

I then began hosting a public speaking practice. Then bigger groups, writing workshops, and large-scale social events. I'm happy to say that, with coaching, I've managed to build a huge social community and make hundreds of new, interesting connections with people from vastly different backgrounds, all over the world.

I'm now an Animas qualified coach myself, and I like to make use of models from the therapeutic space (such as CBT, transactional analysis, and gestalt psychology). I also have a background in literature and sociology.

I use my training, my personal experience, and my academic background to help anybody who's struggling to forge a path forward in life, business, relationships, or creativity.

My offer

If you think you'd benefit from coaching, I'm more than happy to offer you 2 x FREE hour-long coaching sessions online.

These sessions are 100% confidential, friendly, and there for you to use in your own time, to begin making serious progress with whatever you're struggling with.

One of my key values as a coach is empathy, so you can rest assured I will always treat you with kindness and compassion, and will seek to help you wherever I can.

What do other people come to coaching for?

People always come to coaching sessions with their own unique experience(s). So I'm always interested in the fine details of what individual people have to say.

That said, some of the most common issues people need coaching for are: anxiety, motivation, self-esteem, procrastination, fear of failure, relationship or family issues, a difficult friendship, career progression, lacking a sense of purpose, wanting to undertake an artistic project, excessive technology usage, lack of routine, goal-setting, financial ambitions, etc.

Who I work with

I work with a huge variety of people: mums, dads, students, painters, speakers, publishers, retail workers, bar staff, artists, writers, videographers, people out of work, people in business, in the charity sector.

Whoever you are, I'm sure I can help you, and I'd love to hear from you.

If you like, you can email me right away and tell me - in just a sentence or two - what you're struggling with, and I'll get back to you to let you know how I can help: help@definingchapter.com

TESTIMONIALS:

“I came to Sean as I was feeling overwhelmed with the sheer number of creative projects I wanted to do, all at once - I felt scattered and had trouble focusing on any one thing for long enough to progress. They helped me define my main goals, work out the source of my chronic procrastination, and as result I have already started taking action, achieving small goals that are stepping stones to the larger ones. Working with Sean has helped me find the clarity and confidence that I need to progress after years of feeling stuck.”

“Sean coached me through a creative project that helped me to re-assess the direction of my life at a time when I was undecided just where I was going. In terms of outcomes it proved to be a turning point in my life which would never have come about without his compassionate, professional input.”

Michael Giddings (consultant)

“I have worked with Sean on two different occasions. Both times, Sean supported me with knowledge, clarity, kindness, and the right dose of humor. With his coaching, I was able to solve inner and outer conflict, rethink my approach to technology and writing, and restructure my working life, which improved my performance immensely. I highly recommend working with them.”

In addition, I was helped to refine my ideas for a TED talk application, and to embark upon the next stages of my professional journey with greater clarity. I would highly recommend them to anyone!"

“I’ve worked with Sean on several occasions, and continue to do so. His quick, intuitive mind and strong, yet gentle presence have helped me achieve clarity and insights I don’t think I’d have got to so quickly on my own (if at all!). I know Sean as a writer, too, and when he applies his strong narrative instinct to formulating exactly the right coaching question for you at just the right moment, the results can be very powerful, helping you get over hurdles in your Hero’s Journey you didn’t even know were there…”
