About Me

Hello!

My name's Sean.

I'm a copywriter, writing mentor, and career and project coach.

You can find my company, Defining Chapter, at www.definingchapter.com, and another initiative I run, Coaching Through Crises, at coachingthroughcrises.org.

Before founding these, I worked with the UK’s highest-rated business coaching brand, SEVEN, where I helped people create a life—and career—they truly love.

My Experience

I'm 39 now, but throughout my 20s and early 30s, I struggled with immense anxiety about my life and career direction. I explored the issue through therapy, hypnotherapy, support groups, public speaking classes, and even writing circles—but it was coaching that finally lit the way forward.

Since then, I’ve worked as a copywriter for Oxford University Press and ETH Zurich, and I’ve founded three businesses, partnering with people across the globe to build careers, businesses, and creative projects that truly matter.

My Ideal Client

I love working with people who are intent on creating meaningful freelance careers, businesses, charities—even artistic projects.

As a general rule, I only work with those ready to make a profound shift in both life and work.

If that’s you, I’m here to help you create your own Defining Chapter—to explore what you love, who you want to become, and what you want to experience and contribute to the world.

How I Work

As a coach, mentor, and professional writer, I combine one-to-one verbal coaching and conversation with strategic planning models, mentoring, and occasional exercises or writing tasks.

That said, my core priority is always to check in with you first—where you’re at, what you need, and how I can support you. (That’s something we’ll explore together if/when we meet!)

I’m here—and qualified—to help with any or all of the following:

Business coaching

Life coaching

Relationships (business or personal)

Difficult conversations / Conflict resolution

Confidence building

Self-esteem

Anxiety

Public speaking fear

CV writing

Cover letter writing

Mission statements

Copywriting

Creative writing

Creative brainstorming

Team building

Project building

Project management

Career change / Transferable skills

Personal narrative building

My Offer

If you think you’d benefit from career, life, or writing coaching, I’d be happy to offer you a free 1.5-hour coaching session.

Every session is 100% confidential—yours to use in your own time—to begin outlining an ambitious, transformative plan for your life, career, business, or creativity.

What Do People Come to Coaching For?

Everyone brings their own unique experience to coaching—so I’m always deeply curious about the details of yours.

That said, here are some of the most common reasons people seek coaching:
Anxiety, low motivation, self-esteem issues, procrastination, fear of failure, relationship or family challenges, a difficult friendship, career progression, lack of purpose, artistic dreams, tech overuse, lack of routine, goal-setting, financial ambitions, conflict management… the list goes on.

What to Do Now

If you’re ready, you can book a session directly with me here:

What Qualifies Me?

I hold ICF-accredited training in transformational coaching from Animas Coaching Institute.

I’ve also trained with Positive Intelligence, and I’m currently completing CPD study in Existential Coaching with Oxford University.

My professional writing qualifications include:
