by Helena ChanMany of the people I work with aren't looking for more success.
They're looking for themselves.
They've built successful careers. They've become the person everyone relies on. Yet somewhere beneath the responsibility, achievement and noise, they've lost touch with their own voice.
Recently, a senior leader asked me a question that stayed with me.
"Do you think successful leaders are truly happy?"
I paused.
Then I realised the question I was really interested in was this:
Are they at peace?
Happiness comes and goes. Peace feels different.
Peace isn't the absence of uncertainty or difficult emotions. It's trusting yourself enough to stay present when they arise, instead of immediately trying to outrun them with another achievement, another promotion or another goal.
Many high-achieving professionals know how to perform at a high level.
What they often struggle with is trusting themselves.
They've spent years meeting expectations and making sensible decisions, but somewhere along the way they stopped asking themselves what they truly want.
This is where coaching can make all the difference.
Not by giving you the answers, but by helping you reconnect with yourself beneath the expectations, achievement and noise. From there, decisions become clearer, confidence becomes quieter, and success begins to feel like something you've chosen rather than something you've inherited.
If you've ever wondered why achieving more doesn't necessarily bring more peace, perhaps the next question isn't:
"What's the next thing I need to accomplish?"
Perhaps it's:
"What would help me feel more like myself again?"
Sometimes the answer doesn't come from thinking harder.
Sometimes it begins with having a different kind of conversation.
