Like many people, I prefer to:
• see where I’m going
• know how I will get there
• take in the scenery as I go
• have a sense of how long the journey will take
• and understand what happens when I arrive.
In short — I like to have certainty.
Certainty gives me clarity, vision, purpose, stability, security, and confidence.
But in today’s world of constant change and as an independent professional, I am learning to adjust to the absence of certainty.
• I can’t always see the future path — unexpected turns do arise.
• The landscape around me isn’t always visible — sometimes it’s obscured, making perspectives hard to find.
• Timelines change, goals evolve.
• Outcomes surprise me.
• I don’t always know how long it will take… or even what “there” will look like when I arrive.
It can be uncomfortable at times. But I am learning to find comfort in the unknown, to stay flexible and to trust that not having all the answers can still lead somewhere meaningful.
In uncertainty, I’m discovering adaptability, trust, and resilience.
Because while certainty is comfortable, possibility lives in the unknown
