From Perfectionism To Progress

Almost everything we do in life is a habit.

Therefore if you change your habits you can change your life.

Perfectionism is a habit.

The 3 keys that fuel the habit of perfectionism are:
1) Distraction
2) Addiction
3) Avoidance

I've coached a lot of people around this and it's always these same 3 habits at play.

How do you break these 3 habits?

With these 3 steps:
1) Awareness
2) Intention
3) Attention

First off become aware of how you distract yourself, what you can't stop doing and what you are avoiding. This is what needs to change to create freedom from fear and a need for perfection.

Then set an intention of the result that you do want. 

Perfectionism is all about WHAT YOU DON'T WANT.

The key to fast change lies in focusing in WHAT YOU DO WANT.

Finally take control of your attention and commit to what you want with action.

Perfection thrives on the space between intention and attention and this results in procrastination and leaves you feeling more pressure and less confident.

When you close the gap between what you want and what you do you will replace DISTRACTION WITH ACTION and increase your confidence and decrease your anxiety levels.

When you start finishing tasks faster you gain momentum and this can grow very quickly. You get the sense of achievement that comes with getting more done and before you know it aiming for perfection won't make sense, making massive progress will.

Making small changes can have a HUGE impact on how you feel and what you do.

So why wait?
