Usually, when we want to bring a change into our lives, we are afraid.
We are afraid that something bad will happen; that we will fail, that we will lose someone, that we will never be able to return to the place that we started.
And this fear is reasonable! We are about to step out of our comfort zone and we feel vulnerable.
Whenever this happens to me, I ask myself.
"What is the worst thing that could happen?"
And this is a question I often use with my coaching clients.
And the answer I get?
Well, the most common answer that comes up is:
"Nothing! There is nothing really terrible that could happen."
Then, we work together to plan how they're going to achieve their goal and take measures to preempt undesirable situations.
This is my role as a coach, to be the person that will challenge your thinking and support you through the process of change.
Consider something that you postpone doing for some time now because you are afraid of the outcome, and ask yourself this exact question.
What is the worst thing that could happen?
